RIPTIDES SWIM TEAM

The Riptides are the official swim team of the White Plains YMCA.  The team has been on hiatus for a year and we are happy to be reinstating the team this fall 2012! 

The Riptides are a developmental team that will compete in the Westchester-Fairfield Swim League.  The team includes swimmers ages 5-18 who have aquatic experience, but are looking for an environment in which learn the nature of competing - from rules to technique to character.  Swimmers, parents and coaches are all expected to uphold the Y’s Four Core Values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.  All swimmers will increase their level of technique, discipline, speed and endurance, but more importantly they will learn self-confidence, team spirit and good sportsmanship.  

Open try-outs are September 10th, 11th and 12th at 5:00pm.

Practice times will be Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoon.
