The White Plains YMCA has been teaching youth and adults how to swim in White Plains for over 100 years. We offer a range of classes for students starting as early as 6 months old and we work with students of all abilities. Our next round of classes will be our Fall1 session, which runs from September 5th to October 29th. Registration will open on August 7th.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have a membership to enroll my child in classes at the Y?
A: No, you do not need to be a member to take classes. Anyone looking to take classes at the White Plains YMCA can enroll in a Program Membership which allows them to enroll in programming at the facility. Unlike a full membership, a Program Membership has an annual registration fee of $60 per year and only allows for program registration. However, full memberships have additional benefits, including full access to the facility and reduced rates on programs.

Q:Can I register online?
A: We currently do not have an online registration system. However, signing up for classes is quick and can be done at the front desk.

Q: Do I need to be onsite with my child during programs?
A: If your child is under the age of 13, we ask that you or a guardian (18 or above) need to be present while they are attending YMCA programs. This is done for the safety and well-being of your child.

Q: What if I miss a class or a class is canceled?
A: In the case where a class is canceled due to weather related closings or instructors not being available, class participants will ether receive a make-up class or a credit voucher for the missed class. Your instructor will contact you with more information. Make up sessions or credit vouchers are not issued for missed classes.
