White Plains YMCA

The White Plains YMCA has been teaching youth and adults how to swim in White Plains for over 100 years. We offer a range of classes for students starting as early as 6 months old and we work with students of all abilities. Our next round of classes will be our Winter session and will run from January 2 to February 26. Registration for this session will begin on December 10th.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have a membership to enroll my child in classes at the Y?
A: No, you do not need to be a member to take classes. Anyone looking to take classes at the White Plains YMCA can enroll in a Program Membership which allows them to enroll in programming at the facility. Unlike a full membership, a Program Membership has an annual registration fee of $60 per year and only allows for program registration. However, full memberships have additional benefits, including full access to the facility and reduced rates on programs.

Q:Can I register online?
A: We currently do not have an online registration system. However, signing up for classes is quick and can be done at the front desk.

Q: Do I need to be onsite with my child during programs?
A: If your child is under the age of 13, we ask that you or a guardian (18 or above) need to be present while they are attending YMCA programs. This is done for the safety and well-being of your child.

Q: What if I miss a class or a class is canceled?
A: In the case where a class is canceled due to weather related closings or instructors not being available, class participants will ether receive a make-up class or a credit voucher for the missed class. Your instructor will contact you with more information. Make up sessions or credit vouchers are not issued for missed classes.
