The White Plains YMCA Child Care Center is a NY State OCFS-licensed program providing full-day care 3 or 5 days per week for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Program hours are 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.
The YMCA’s early learning child care programs provide each child a warm and supportive environment in which to grow. We meet the needs of each child with experiences that foster development and a sense of self-esteem. Y programs strive to develop the total child, with particular emphasis on educational, physical, emotional and social skills necessary for success in the coming school years. Our staff are caring professionals that are highly trained in the area of early childhood development.

Ages: 6 weeks-18 months
Our Infant program is a fully equipped, licensed facility developed to support the primary care needs of the individual child. Our safe nurturing environment, staffed by individuals committed to Early Childhood Development is ready to provide developmentally appropriate activities based on the ability of each individual child in a personal setting. This program incorporates music, songs, nursery rhymes, sensory activities, tummy time, crawling, cruising and more.
Ages: 18 to 36 months
Repetition is the key to our Toddler Program. This process-oriented, hands-on, interactive, verbalization-based program introduces toddlers to their environment through arts & crafts, music & movement, story time, gross motor & sensory integration activities building on acquired skills introduced in the infant program. Our qualified staff assists the children with their transitions in separation, socialization, independent eating and toileting.
Ages: 3 to 5
This program guides the children through the continued use of hands-on art and sensory exploration of their environment with supervised independence. The interactive theme-based curriculum brings activities to life focusing on the process rather than the product. Introduction to computer exploration and enhance the reading and mathematics readiness that is introduced at this age. The weekly theme-based curriculum slowly moves the children from themselves, family and school to their community and the world around them. The curriculum is enhanced by formal journal writing, hands-on mathematics manipulative, guest speakers and local outings.
Ages: 4 years old: Born in 2014
The White Plains YMCA has joined the select group of locations that will provide UPK Programs to the White Plains community. This program will provide Pre-Kindergarten enrichment activities FREE OF CHARGE to children who reside in White Plains School District and will turn 4 years of age in 2018. Appropriate documentation will be required. Limited space will be available. Extended hours available for an additional fee per month. All applications must be submitted to the White Plains School District.
