Dear Member of the Y Community,
As previously communicated, we have made the decision to list our building on Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains for sale following many years and significant costs associated with its upkeep. Instead, we intend to move to a non-facility YMCA model, which leverages other non-YMCA owned locations to bring existing and new services to our members. I wanted to provide you with an update on our progress.
Since our announcement, there has been a great deal of interest in our site. We have spoken with a number of organizations and, after much consideration, the Board has agreed to enter into a due diligence agreement with one company. The process will allow for the company to further study the feasibility of a plan to redevelop the current Mamaroneck Avenue location.
It is important to note that our time frame remains the same as previously communicated. We anticipate that the feasibility study will show that this project can continue. At that point, we expect it would be at least another 12 months for land use approvals before work could begin.
