The White Plains YMCA is a proud provider of the American Red Cross Health & Safety and Aquatic Training programs. Our courses are offered year round to both members and non-members and include both full courses and/or re-certification/renewal courses.

Lifeguard Training

The American red cross lifeguarding course is to provide entry level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies, and to provide professional level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) Personnel arrive and take over. CPR, AED & first aid

The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older.
